YouTube & Copyright

MARS streams music on YouTube. YouTube uses automated systems like Content ID, fingerprinting, and policy enforcement. Because of that, we need clear permission from rights holders before playing tracks.

What you are agreeing to when you submit

Content ID and distributor claims

If your distributor or label enrolls your track into Content ID, it can trigger claims during live streaming. If your track is selected, we may ask you to whitelist MARS or provide a clean path to resolve claims.

Tip: If you control Content ID, make sure MARS is whitelisted before your track goes live, or claims can mute or block the stream.

Copyright notices and takedowns

If you believe your rights were violated, contact us with enough info to identify the stream, the track, and your proof of rights. We will review and take appropriate action.

Artist credit and promo

When possible, we credit artists in descriptions and on-screen elements. If you gave promo permission, we may also use short clips and artist details to promote your track and the station.

Questions

If you are unsure about any rights, do not submit yet. Get permission in writing first, then submit once everything is clean.
